Week 13 - Finished walls and kitchen cabinets

The walls were finished off super smooth this week and the house is beginning to look like a home at last. The kitchen and bathroom cabinets started to go in on Friday and the wood looks rich and gorgeous. We chose a Eucalyptus hybrid wood for the cabinets which is a sustanable fast growing hard wood and with the cherry stain it looks fantastic.

Week 12 - Sheetrock, solar panels and new window

The sheetrock is up and so we have rooms! For the rest of the week the team has been taping and filling the cracks in the sheetrock in order for us to have smooth rather than textured walls.

Also this week we had the solar panels installed! These will be generating 110% of our electricity needs which will cover our energy usage for a number of years to come.

We had the final window installed in the master bathroom. Together with the sun tube there is a nice lot of light in there now.

The sheetrock team worked over the weekend and finished on Monday. They have transformed the place!

Week 11 - Finishing electrical and inspections

Not much change this week. It was a big week for inspections:

• Electrical: passed
  
• Sheer in sunroom: passed
  
• Insulation in sunroom: passed
  

Week 10 - Patio doors, insulation and walls

The patio doors and the big tub went in this week! The insulation and walls started to go up too.

We are getting the house well insulated and sealed tight to maximize energy efficiency

Although many said it couldn't be done...the tub does fit in the bathroom and is plumbed in!
